Had a program tell me today that the affiliation agreement with my school will not be completed in time for my rotation in August despite submitting the paperwork in February. They said they could only offer me an observership. Has this happened to anyone else? Is an observership vs. formal rotation that different?

I guess it would depend on what you can/can't do as an observer. Probably would be unable to write notes, orders, etc. That may or may not be important based on what the rotation is like. I would email the coordinator to ask if the schedule would be any different as an observership vs. formal rotation.
trying to add info for away rotation impressions but it's locked?
< I don't think it is locked, you just can't type in the same box as someone else did to prevent deleting like last year
Do you guys think is a good idea taking Step 2CK after submitting ERAS but before the end of October if my Step 1 is 247? Thanks!
If the rest of your application is strong you can delay step 2. More applications are taking step 2ck now and it gives programs an extra data point, so if you think you can do well on it you probably should just take it.
hello
this spreadhseet has rutgers as not accepting apps, but they are currently on ERAS?
I think Rutgers NJMS pulled out of match either last year or before, but Rutgers RWJ is still up and running as far as I know. If you are able to confirm then I can change the sheet, thanks!
Rutgers NJMS program was absorbed into RWJ. A
What is everyone planning to do about the UT Southwestern Supplemental essay instead of personal statement? I think it needs to be done but on their website it says it is from the 2016-2017 application cycle. Thanks so much!
Any word on this?
I called. She said upload your responses to the 3 questions as
a PS. No longer than a PS.
How do we
Anyone know which programs have supplementals? And which recquire different personal statements?
I don't think any programs require different personal statements (at least when I applied). Some people changed their personal statements for programs they were really interested in or to clarify any ties to a geographic region that may not have been evident from the rest of their application. UTSW, Mayo, Indiana, and UMass had supplemental questions that were relatively short.
UTSW wants you to submit answers to 3 questions
in lieu of a PS
UMass
UMass had supplemental questions? Can't find that on their website. Do you mean BU?
<-- No they email the supplemental question out
just got one from UMASS and UCONN
OHSU too
If a program says 3 LORs, but doesn't say anything about more or less than 3, are you guys planning to submit 4 LORs if the 4th adds something to app?
I am just submitting 3 for what it is worth.
If they say 3, then I would submit 3. If they say they want at least 3, then I would submit 4.
I feel like a lot of the e
Admin, can you open editing features for the research fellowship page? Have a new opportunity to add, thanks!
Agreed, I have a research fellowship to add too! Thanks!
Added more lines to the bottom of that page!
Thanks so much for doing that!
Thank you!
Does anyone know when we start hearing from prelim/TY programs?
late sept / early oct
Kettering sent out invites for TY programs
Got an invite for Carolinas medical center Prelim-IM on 9/17
Dumb question, but how does match system work for Derm/Prelims? If I apply to Derm, Prelims, and FM (backup), do I have to rank each separately? Or if I match into a Derm, I automatically get put into a Prelim that accepts me. Sorry, but I'm kinda lost with this info and haven't had the chance to talk to my school about it
You have a main list and a supplemental rank list attached to each advanced program you rank.
Thanks! Prelim programs don't have to be part of the main list right? I could just have it as part of my supplemental, so if I didn't get a Derm program, I could hopefully get the FM backup and not be matched into a Prelim without Derm?
correct. unless u put a prelim on your main rank list, you will not match it without a derm program.
Any one know how to find Indian'as supplemental questions??
arent they emailed to you? didn't get their supplement yet
How about Ohio state?
Ohio State (http://www.osuderm.org/AboutUs/Education/ResidencyApplicantInfo.aspx) - "After reviewing information about our program, please describe in around 100 words what you will bring to our existing program and resources. The subject of your email should be "APPLICANT DERMATOLOGY SUPPLEMENT: Firstname Lastname, AAMC Number ######" (please replace the appropriate fields with your information). Please send your response to the prompt to the Program Director at Joy.Mosser-Goldfarb@nationwidechildrens.org by October 15, 2018."
So we don't get this message via ERAS?
Do we have a calendar going yet for which programs will be interviewing on certain days? Seems like some schools already have this info up on their websites!
Calendar is up and running
