Fame & Shame
2025–2026 Derm
3 entries❌1. I wouldn't waste my time rotating at this program, or even apply to it, if your scores are not above 270. This program only cares about scores and scores ONLY. A good portion of the program (residents and faculty) are nice to your face and then talk behind your back.
❌2. ^second above. Residents are very nosy and cliquey, and you can tell who they'll pick based on the demographics + high scores. Does not evaluate holistically, and I wouldn't recommend unless you have ties to san antonio or the military
❌3. Did not take any home students this past match
For UT San Antonio, are we sure that the derm interview counted for our prelim interview? I got an email from the prelim telling me they couldn't offer me an interview after I already had my derm interview
The PC said during the interview that basically the derm program gives the prelim their rank list instead of an interview
thank you sm I couldn't remember!!
has anyone gotten san antonio?
Yes, just now (2 PM CST)
was it through thalamus? No - a direct email from the PC
Pitt is the final program of the day (UPMC)? Also UVA? Cornell hasn't released yet have they? + maybe MUSC? + UT San Antonio??
MCW hasn't released any from what i can see
wow could really use one rn

can we compile a list of places that are anticipated to release invites nov 3rd??
duke, penn, mcw, univ of arkansas, hopkins, UNC, OSU, UPMC
wait penn is 11/3???
also Baylor, Geisinger, Mayo, Cornell, Northwestern (?), Ohio State, Arkansas, UT San Antonio, Wisconsin, Virginia Tech
pretty sure penn is 12/1
isn't Yale traditionally 11/3?
per the spreadsheet, 11/17

From the cornell info session, it seems like they only take people who do away rotators there, is this true?
my resident friend there said historically it's away rotators or home students/other ppl from Manhattan med schools
is this the same for columbia?
tbh I feel like most of the nyc programs are like this
what about harvard?
i got interviews at nyu, columbia, cornell with no nyc connections and no away and being from far away, did not get mt sinai. harvard does not take into account whether you did an away or not in their interview invites; i interviewed there as well
ya i was told not to really bother applying if I didn't do an away because all the interviews are pretty much given to home/away students
do we know what schools are more open with interviews? seems like most do very few other than home and aways
it is easy to tell you schools who dont interview openly (UTMB, UT san antonio), please feel free to add the list.>
