Hey guys- M3 here applying this fall. Is MSKCC a really good prelim program? Why are so many people that matched to Derm programs across the country going there?
no one cares if you go to a prestigious prelim, try to enjoy yourself before starting derm

Lol I am doing mine at a chill TY program in a great city with warm weather and close to family, no regrets!
It's a great program in NYC.
Derm ppl tend to be more intense (and smart) so they're all for it but tbh it is a tough year and the PD will say that to you on interview day. this being said some people might want the challenge, like the prestige, get excited about the free food and nice facilities, etc! <yeah the PD did say that on interview day lol. The resident on my interview day straight up said that TYs get taken advantage of there. The ED rotation at Cornell is also not a favorite and apparently they were having issues with PPE for the TYs. That was enough for me to not rank it as highly
