agreed, RY helped a lot of weak applicants match this year. There should be less weight on it

agree with the previous poster that the field is getting totally saturated with dumb papers and it's going to make it harder to wade through to find the research that matters and it's so financially irresponsible not to mention wasteful of resources and people's time and energy. we also need to stop publishing case reports/series of low value. Most of the time these things are not adding value, every now and then you have a case that really stands out and warrants it. We need to stop presenting poorly done or low sample size research at conferences and having people spend so much money to attend conferences to showcase a poster that costs resources and money to print and transport. Bad for the environment and such nonsense. Normalize virtual conferences and stop flying around for these dumb reasons. If you're an attending or resident reading, stop writing off your vacation as a conference you take your family to, think about what you're doing and get a life to find meaningful ways to connect with people and make friends outside of conferences

THEY ARE FALLING OUT OF FAVOR. Normalize attending information sessions/actually doing your research on programs. some of yall literally just choose not to stay up to date

Shouting doesn't make it true. They aren't falliing out of favor, whether that suits your wishes or not. And maybe consider taking some time off from this spreadsheet and repeating the same thing day after day.
