looking at prev match lists it doesn't seem like it

there was someone from a med school in the midwest that matched there and you wouldn't know they had ties to CA unless you knew them, plus they didn't have much research so there defintely was a tie there

i think year before last they matched people from florida, new york, and michigan - but im not sure where those residents did undergrad etc
