Idk if anyone wlse feels this way but I see so many people on TikTok and IG giving advice like how to study for classes, how ot study for boards, how to be a good rotator/med student and I want RECEIPTS. Like before I listen to this advice I wanna see if you did well in school, I wanna see if you were a good med student/rotator, I wanna know tht board score.
FACTS.
Sadly most of the tiktokers probably didn't actually do well in med school...and guessing by looking at some of these derm tiktoker accounts, probably weren't the best med student rotators, so I would hesitate before taking all of your advice from them. Top residency programs also don't like to see these people on IG/TikTok trying to be derm residents
idk i think it depends on what type of content it is, plenty of residents at "top" programs are/were active on social media.
alot of them are at low level programs (larkin) and only after applying twice or three times so also keep that in mind.
just because someone is a reapplicant does not mean they weren't a good student
