Most of my ECs are based around prison reform and anti-incarceration advocacy. Do you think this is going to be a problem for PDs? I'm worried with the current political climate.
can you write well about how this has prepared you to be a good dermatologist…? my biggest concern is that they're not particularly relevant to your career. I'm sure you've thought about this already though. I wouldn't worry about the politics
i dont see why this would be a problem. ask mentors/your home program about this. the other responses saying you cant connect it to derm seems dumb to me. not everything on your app has to be connected to derm as long as you have something else to show real interest in the field

thanks for calling me dumb diva! they said MOST of their ECs are very obviously not related to derm which could be a concern! Good luck on your match!
didnt call you dumb... the idea that majority of your activities should be related to derm is dumb....
I had gotten some feedback this past cycle after not matching about how tha advocacy things I highlighted may not go towards :fit" at a lot of programs. I think of course you should stay authentic to yourself and your application and want to go somewhere that values that, but definitely something to keep in mind given the current climate
