what do you think some of the most chill TYs are? and what factors are you looking at other than # of elective months (if that's equivalent)?

#3144Mar 1

Biggest factor other than elective months is what the inpatient weeks look like. Is it super busy, high volume, high call, lots of nights etc. Geisinger TY was the most chill place I interviewed at easily

imagine my shock at geisinger TY when they told me it was a 28 bed hospital… and I said I liked having friends around and they kindly informed me it's 1:1 with an attending all day. Talk about getting DNR'd lol >it's also in a tiny town with nothing to do. Lots of free time as an intern, but nothing to do with it

When a program says they have "academic half days", does this just refer to study time or lectures

Mar 7
0

"academic half days" are study time. "didactics" are lectures

Are prelim spots tied to derm interviews this year? i applied to mostly schools that i did not get a derm interview for and i know 1-2 schools that said they would only release prelims to folks that got derm interviews. trying to figure out if it makes sense to still reach out to these prelims for interviews even though i got denied derm II

#1799Feb 21

got a Geisinger TY and didn't get Geisinger Derm. Don't think they're tied because other specialties need prelim/TY too

Feb 21

probably program dependent> thank you
