I applied to ~15 IM prelims- 1 invite

I applied to 29 IM prelims- 3 invites so far

Applied to 15 have 5 prelim invites but 4/5 are more community programs

For the people struggling to get invites, by any chance did you only apply to prelims that are considered "competitive" for whatever reason or did you mix it up and include community programs as well? I did not apply to community programs, all academic (that's why I applied to ~30)

applied to a mix of ~25 IM prelims in competitive location, 2 invites so far.

personally, I say dont freak out yet. My understanding is that you can email prelims when you get an advanced interview at a school and an "in the area" email -- if you dont have enough prelim interviews by Dec/Jan, I think many programs will make exceptions to their interview dates and accommodate you.

applied to 20-25 TY/prelim, at 9 interviews right now. I think I have been more fortunate than most

Our school IM chair told us not to stress, the invites will come. Especially since we're derm!

I think boston med center sent invites, not that you still can't get one regardless

so what is "enough" prelim invites after all? I was thinking 8 with some community programs i was interested in due to location should be enough?
