thanks for the encouragement! i was thinking about what everyone's been saying on here and grappling with my own frustrations, and I think that there are so many valid critiques of this process on here, and many frustrations that deserve to be heard. I also feel encouraged by the development of the calendar that was made via collaboration between programs for this year, and I feel like maybe we can actually affect change! Not for us, but maybe for the next years. I wonder if maybe we could have a tab where we make suggestions for the lurking applicant reviewers/PDs/etc., so that maybe they can improve things in the future? Sorry if that's dumb, please don't relegate me to my own lonely tab.

I personally think that's a great idea!!! I'm sure most of us on here have suggestions, and I'm sure some residents/attendings look at this sheet. Do you want to make a tab? <I made one and titled it "Dear PDs" and I think it's the most direct scariest thing I've ever done! But I'm not trying to be confrontational. Please feel free to rename.

No that's perfect!! I'll post some of my suggestions/ones I've seen on here now, and then people can post theirs too, and we can do the usual x2, x3, etc. to illustrate how many people also feel that specific suggestion would be useful?

Okay so if you look at Sheet Daddy's tab, I suggested the following: 1. % of schools releasing interview invites vs. weeks in the cycle [cumulative] 2. Applicants graphing their number of invites vs. weeks in the cycle so the gods can have their ego stroked and the tricklers can show the rest of us folks their projected path and reduce a ton of stress/anxiety 3. Emphasizing potential randomness of interview - comparatively speaking we're at the top of our med school classes so our stats will be great, but looking at the stats page it's clear some people are literal gods at derm and others might be solidly average applicants. 4. Creating a 'break point' for trickle interview invites where letters of interest should be sent out - I'm thinking Thanksgiving - again, this will prolly be reflected on graphs. i'm also making a 2x2 table of letter of invite success percentage lol 5. AWAY ROTATION UTILITY - some of these programs don't interview rotators and that can be a huge waste of time. Yea you went to Harvard, didn't get a letter and they don't interview rotators, feeling cool? Or, you went somewhere you didn't expect, had a great time, got a letter AND an interview, and now can match there. WOWWWW!
