was looking at past spreadsheets. Is it true that Mt Sinai only takes research fellows and internals? Their website also doesn't have a list of current residents that I could find??

They certainly preference their research fellows/internals but they have historically taken a few outside candidates each year from what i understand

also have heard from people in the know that spots are pretty much all promised
