Not that this is a huge deal, but which residency programs provide the best salary/benefits?

< Some programs (DO) are notorious for low salaries. i.e. Georgia pays $20k/yr, Larkin pays $40k, etc << there was at least one DO program that historicially didn't pay their residents at all but i think they had to change that with the AOA/ACGME merger if they wanted to be accreditted. << that is so messed up

Almost all of the (reputable/ethical) programs seem to pay between ~55-60k per year, and the salary difference between those numbers isn't that meaningful. Not to mention all the programs on the higher end of that range tend to be ones with very high cost of living. The more meaningful measure might be cost of living, becase 60k per year in iowa and 60k per year in LA are drastically different as far as quality of life and purchasing power
