Everytime I am feeling down about this process, I look up jobs posted recently and it gives me the boost to keep going lol< lmfao are you me? I do that too haha < looool me too! just saw a gig in iowa for 750k, i can definitely do this stress for that kinda $ for my efforts lol < the caveat is that that kind of number is usually from less desired locations. The median number for newly graduated attending in the private practice is around 300-400k, in the academic hospital mid 200k to early 300k (definitely MGH/PENN is exceptional) < fair but i mean, less desirable is relative. The entire midwest is probably considered less desirable by most people but places like st louis are fine for me. why anyone will live in NY and Cali for like 30-40% less pay in addition to the insane cost of living is beyond me < let them chase that prestige & sardine box lifestyle.
