< Yes. I've seen people do Path then Dermpath and then apply and match into Derm residency. There's one faculty member at Northwestern (very wonderful guy) who had quite a roundabout way in terms of journey of getting there thru Path. Pathology really is a wonderful & gem of a specialty, and since you're at a top 5 Path program, I would connect with Dermpath and the Derm department there early on to stay connected, present things at conferences, and network (do not let Path know they were your backup). Stick with it. < OP, would I have to do a prelim year also?? Or just the three years of derm? < I'm actually not sure. I would think that because you would have completed a board certified residency (AP/CP), you may not have to, but I'm definitely not sure on this.
