i KNOW some of yall had some shit RY's, the time to spill the beans is NOW < did any Harvard research fellow recieve an interview at Harvard? I heard that they have not typically < yes < no < It's a relative given that if you do a dermatology research fellowship at Harvard, it's not a guaranteed interview there. Doesn't mean it can't help you match at other places. That being said, they have a LOT more derm research fellowships now than even 10 years ago, so clearly they also want to get in on the free labor exploitation grift. < how are you supposed to discuss your RY if you were the only one there lol

a lot of the ones at Harvard are unpaid and kind of exploit the free labor. in general, look to see if research interns end up staying at the same institution for residency or at strong programs (which reflects the level of support and strength of letter from PI) < But dont you see, all those unpaid years is how Harvard shows its commitment to the equity piece of DEI! < omg ofc right i totally forgot we love #exploitation but then matching #urms to prove they aren't racist pos, i really hate this process lol < The edit, LOL < LOL

< harvard seems to have a couple good mentors from the sleuthing I have been doing lol. op, if you're interested in a RY, maryanne senna, arash mostaghimi, steven chen, esther freeman, and jennifer huang seem like really nice people / good mentors who publish an impressive amount and seem to match their fellows to really strong programs! < Maryanne Makredes (I guess she's married now w/her last name of Senna) is a total sweetheart. So great to see her career trajectory since med school and derm residency. < Not sure about others but know that Mostaghimi pays all of his fellows, including conference travel. A lot of work but an incredible year.
