So many strong applicants went unmatched this cycle. it's scary. << Contrary to what academic derm faculty in APD and #DermTwitter say, I do think that doing a derm research year during medical school is just going to become a more common hoop to jump through. I don't think those academic Derm faculty speak for the entire specialty as a whole. It's not a guarantee, but the correlation (both in terms of matching and the caliber of the derm program matched into ) seems to be clear with this year's match list. < So RYs are more about connections than pubs? I agree. A RY wont guarantee a match. there were ppl who completed RYs at Harvard and still went unmatched. << No, that's not at all what I said nor implied. Nice try though.
