I just checked WashU's resident class, half of the 2026 class is Asian, as is 33% of the class of 2027. Are we just angry that someone actually decided to do DEIs and didn't just lie like other programs?

I've seen DEI boards that are just old white dudes at multiple programs. St. Louis having stuff to do is debatable, but yeah she can pick which residents she wants.>there are faculty at WashU that have been talking about and doing DEI in derm for decades before Rosman. she is just more popular amongst med students << Who?

I don't think anyone is angry that Dr. Rosman has made a voluntary decision to incorporate DEI into derm resident recruitment at her program at Wash U since taking over. She's PD and can do whatever she wants at her program and decidee how they want to recruit residents. And because Wash U is a relatively high ranked med school with a lot of resources, in a city like St. Louis where there is stuff to do, she has the luxury of doing that. She's pretty upfront about it and has posted photos of herself at meetings discussing DEI. I actually admire her for not lying. Many other programs clearly lie and are just trying to cosplay.
