Stanford derm away rotations screen harder than almost any other similar caliber derm program. the people who rotated there but didnt match stanford almost always end up at strong derm programs wherever they match. i would go farther and say there is no other away rotation for a top 10, top 20 derm program that screens away rotators as much as stanford. hence my statement which is in fact very defensible. your odds after you do the rotation are higher than say if you did one at a rotation mill top program that has 2-4x as many rotators many of whom the programs faculty didnt even look at their files with much scrutiny before accepting them to the rotation. again, many of you dont seem to like facts because they go against your feelings and your response to a statement you find hyperbolic isnt to challenge the reasoning behind it. one could even say if more programs had processes of away rotations in derm like stanford there would be fewer complaints about "rotation mills" << The purpose of an away rotation isn't just to match there.<when you have 2 away rotations like your beloved benevolent APD wants everyone to be limited to, you dont have many burner away rotations to do. you can get an educational experience anywhere but people are paying money to improve their chances of matching, not to be free labor for faculty< what is spreading misinformation is you denying that we have completely out of control away rotation mechanisms at a lot of these programs which, in comparison, stanford's system makes it almost seem like you're guranteed to match there if you compare the odds of doing an away there vs doing an away at any other prestigious instituion which i wont name.

Can confirm that Stanford screens very hard for away rotations. Definitely not a first-come, first-serve process like in some other places
