I don't understand why we value rankings so much on this sheet> because people have revolved their lives around acadmics and medicine and have nothing else in their lives.

Because it feels good to tell people you went to Yale or Penn. <ppl want to compare sizes of their Pennis

Because med student derm applicants have no idea what metrics to use to evaluate derm residencies, so they just go by rankings to make themselves feel better. Some really great programs get skipped over, but that's good for everyone else.
