anyone have thoughts/insight about cleveland clinic?
yes! I'm a "home" student and former rotator - super formal vibes at Cleveland Clinic. Residents felt that the new PD was a drastic change from the old one who was a gem and well loved. Residents were looking forward to leaving because they felt the chill vibes have gone away and new admin are more stricter about things including attending conferences, scoring on derm exams, more scut work etc. Will probably be ranking the other programs in Cleveland higher just because the residents seemed unhappy with the changes to the program. Residents needed to manage the attending inbox which they said was a huge negative. Plus even tho there are in-house fellowships, there is no preference given for in-house residents for Mohs... Feels like there's more negatives here + it felt like the residents didn't have a voice
why are you putting quotes around "home"? Isn't case western a home program?
technically but not officially, CCF has their own med students at CCLCM
Ah, so case western is "home" that's why there's quotes I see >haha yeah its confusing for ppl not familiar with the cleveland med programs
UH>CCF>Metro
I thought the residents were happier at Metro over CCF, I think research/ranking wise CCF defintely wins over Metro but for vibes and well-being I think Metro is better! personally doing UH>Metro>CCF>Metros just tough because its work distributed amongst 2-3 residents vs UH is 6 residents.
idk why this got deleted but just reiterating that the PD/APD at UH come off super inexperienced as well
rotated here and felt that way
heard this from a current resident
you guys should probably add this to Fame & Shame if people are deleting

did CCF not interview a lot of home students? i feel like there weren't that many on the social last night
lol how would you know that based on the breakout rooms?>CCF does not interview a lot of homes. Mostly CCLCMs and CWRU that rotates there
Did CWRU UH send out an interview itinerary or anything?
wondering this also
also wondering i didn't get anything!
got an email!
did case western say what time we can schedule tomorrow? can't find it
same, no clue but just gonna be waiting for their email i guess
I set a 9am alarm idk why
I have a school opening at 6am tomorrow (EVMS) so just be careful and on the lookout!
I woke up late and they still haven't sent! also waiting
has anyone gotten an email for UH ?? i havent yet, its also not on my thalamus. Still nothing (12 EST)

anyone knows if cwru has one or two release dates???
did you see something that would suggest two?
Case Western is out
Idk if that's true, if you go on their site, they had interns who did not match at Emory but were TY interns
people still hearing from cwru ?
I believe they had two release times last year?
was it thalamus
standard email that said thalamus would come Wednesday

Case Western released
UH or MetroHealth?
metro
that aint case western
technically it is, CWRU is associated with two programs
UH is more competitive tho right
yes
did anyone get an email from metro health or just a thalamus notification

Any RY fellowships that basically guarantee match? Pls don't say Sinai because I go there and they don't guarantee
I thought they do for MD RY fellowships?
UTHouston does
which PI at UT Houston?
Dr. Adelaide A. Hebert
Dell in Texas has matched their fellow every year for the past several years
Hebert doesn't know if she will have one and Dell lost funding for this upcoming year for their RY> UH case
northwell Garg it looks like
UH CASE DOES NOT GUARANTEE (HORRIBLE REP OF NOT MATCHING FELLOW PRE DOC AND POST DOC)
Thoughts on case western UH?
cleveland
are they more of a rotation mill or like to interview their rotators?
rotation mill
I know someone who rotated and didn't get an interview, the cleveland programs tend to take a lot of home students from CWRU
and also... cleveland >
Is it just me or do Hopkins students not match all that well compared to other peer schools?
bro they went 10/13 this year at crazy institutions. yeah their derm deparment is weaker but they matched incredibly well. also hopkins r
Two people in T5s, two more in T10s...pretty solid if u ask me
Also, people have higher priorities than matching at the “top” programs. Who wants to go to Harvard work-horse and live in miserable Boston
Bruh, in what world is UCSF, Northwestern, UCSD, NYU, Southwestern not impressive. I also think it’s impressive that everyone was able to match at other institutions besides Hopkins. It’s prob more impressive than say, CWRU where a bunch of internals stayed
Plus being able to match at some of these CA / NYC programs without aways, crackedd
Lmao Hopkins really catching strays this cycle

Agreed, some folks want to prioritize happiness
prestige and there's nothing wrong with that. Also matching 10 people from a single institution is a huge accomplishment.
Agree, CWRU tends to just match their internals
Hopkins as a med school is very good so the name prob carries despite the derm dpt being not as strong >Also, people have higher priorities than matching at the “top” programs. Who wants to go to Harvard work-horse and live in miserable Boston

some ppl like boston tho
So sorry for infiltrating the spreadsheet, but I could use some real advice. I'm choosing between Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine (a subset of Case Western's medcial school) vs Yale School of Medicine. Very interested in derm and really don't think I will swap out. Yale is $100k more expensive. CCLCM is closer to home, has free tuition for all students, and has built in research. Tons of supportive research mentors for CCLCM students, plus they have 3 home programs in derm. Should I go CCLCM or Yale?
CCLCM is the obvious choice. Cost is so important, you will be well supported, and Yale struggled with derm match this year anyways
Ah yes hopkins deleting any info about them, as per usual
Bring it back plz
It was mostly positive toward Hopkins, idk why they would be the ones to delete it
what is the tea about them
there's no tea, it was actually just a bunch of people defending Hopkins. idk why someone was so pressed to delete it

Why did someone delete the comment about yale only matching 4/12 this year? Does anyone know if their home department really isn't supportive of their students / dealing with toxicity issues for 8 of their candidates to not match?
negative comments about yale are always deleted quickly...
4/12 is crazy, but I also go to a 'top' program and we only had half of our candidates matched... if any school matched all of their candidates (>4) i'd be impressed. On an unrelated note, I saw a lot of PR students match this cycle which is pretty sick, good on them.
stanford matched all 5 internals this year. i think they've matched up to 12 in previous years. def at least 8.
half of the people matching at top programs is crazy when the overall match rate for t40 NIH funded schools is like 80% lmao
Case Western matched 13
