I know this will be shocking to applicants, but people who've recently matched or are current derm residents do come back to help people in future match cycles. This happened last year on the spreadsheet and their advice was invaluable esp. on the WWYD posts in which you're comparing several programs

What's your advice for preparing for interviews?

What was your grand total for this whole process (ERAS + flights + hotels etc) and how many interviews? Trying to figure out how many pennies I need to save up

They are not. My friend doesn't go to UTHSCSA

I am not from Texas and so did not apply there especially that all their residents are from UT San antonio, so apparently they only take their students. Saved me 28$! x4

if theyre going to take their own students every year, they should have the decency to pull out of the match instead of wasting our money and time x2

TX and CA are known for incest

love the term incest! haha although big programs in CA do take outsiders and are not always consanguinous. The small programs are the ones who commit incest

UTSW is probably the only exception but people from that state tend to want to stay in that state. It's not necessarily on purpose by the program, so they're not wasting your time if you interview there.

Many programs list their interview dates on their website, or internal applicants may have this information through their department

No invites or rejections on my end. Anyone know if Iowa sent rejection yesterday? Was difficult to tell if people were trolling

Someone else commented in the above poll: "If you make people sign in there is no point in this spreadsheet since no useful information will be shared, plus the the spreadsheet wont allow more users to edit" -- My thought is that is why we should switch to "users with link can comment" while having multiple moderators that can prevent trolls from taking hold or prevent people from deleting others' comments, yet it will allow the flexibility for people who do not want to log in to comment anonymously. I think so yes. West virginia University and UTSW are the two I know of, not sure of any other though? I put some question marks under UTSW in the interviews tab so if you know any more info please comment there

Associated with Texas at all? I feel like texas is kinda its own country, isnt it hard to get love unless you have ties? Kinda like california?

No ties or affiliations so I'm pretty surprised myself. From the current residents it seems like they might have less of a regional bias compared to the other TX schools though

Are all interviews 2-day interviews or just the 2 + 2 track?

All of them, in the email the 3-year interviews say that sessions start at 11:00am on the first day and last no later than 2:00pm on the second day

well they sent out that rejection literally 30 seconds before ERAS shut down, so I am sure there is more to come either Sunday or Monday

I feel like maybe they are reviewing apps in chunks and have not gotten to some chunks yet, so you are maybe still in the running for an interview! But who knows haha

oops sorry i accidentally resonved two comments and now i cant find them. It was basically someone being like oh you should pay me if you want to switch and the other person was like oh but they just got it today, I was hoping not to have to pay. Sry :(

So I'm the person who got off the waitlist and it is only for the 8-9th date. I also already bought ticket and got my hotel room, so not in the position to switch. I don't know who asked for payment, but it wasn't me. Sorry

I was the one who wrote about payment, I was just suggesting that the person looking for a swap would have better odds if he/she offered to reimburse costs for the person switching.

why is UTSW a two-day interview? Is the first day a social and thus optional?
