FYI Stanford only has 6 spots this year

#2443Mar 22

They also have a dozen internal applicants applying and will likely fill those spots with them

Coming from the PD during a meeting with all the applicants

Almost all people from Stanford took 1-2 years off which resulted in the unusually high number this year

Stanford vs. UCSF. Which one has happier residents?

Out of curiosity to gauge amount of overlap at top programs, how many ppl are interviewing at UCSF, Stanford, NYU, Penn and Harvard?

Whats the best way to get from San Francisco Proper out towards San Jose/Stanford area? Can I uber or do I need to rent a car?

How far do top programs typically have to go down the rank list? I always feel that people that got invited to harvard will get invited to penn, NYU, Stanford, UCSF, Sinai, NW, Mayo. Can they go all the way to number 30-40 on their rank list because all of the applicants end up being spread out? Unless every applicant that those programs rank to match ranks their respective programs (unlikely) number one, they should go down pretty far.
