Really surprised that University of Missouri-Kansas City's derm program (new one that entered the match this year), didn't take any home students.
I think their students match well though so could just be they wanted to go elsewhere but you're right
Columbia, MO
Sentiment score: 7.8 / 10
Applicants view University of Missouri-Columbia's dermatology program positively, with praise for strong faculty, excellent didactics, and consistent fellowship placements. The program is frequently compared favorably to peer institutions like SLU and Kansas, though some note the location in Columbia is less desirable than Kansas City. Applicants appreciate the welcoming atmosphere and specific faculty expertise in areas like dermatopathology, pediatric dermatology, and Mohs surgery.

Can someone give me some thoughts and persepctive on Mizzou vs Kansas
Unlike Mizzou, Kansas mostly takes Mizzou people. If you are a Mizzou, you should rank Kansas over Mizzou
is kansas a better program than mizzou?
Why does nobody ever give a real answer about Kansas?
Mizzou and Kansas seem to have similar vibes, but Kansas City is a better location
Can we make a list in the cell to the right of places whose derm interview automatically counts as your interview for a prelim/TY year too?
Penn State, Northwestern, Yale (kind of), Georgetown, Ohio State, Brown, Cleveland Clinic, UPMC, UTHSC (tennessee), Zucker/Northwell, Emory, Mizzou, WVU, Dartmouth
wait I didn't know about Northwestern, are we sure?
northwestern med derm counts for prelim.
Penn state does??
yes Penn state does, presented to us on interview day
what about northwestern regular Derm/peds derm> NW med derm counts for advanced derm NW position + med derm position. NOT prelim. You can ask to be considered for categorical IM, but that was not guaranteed by just applying.
Exact wording: "We are very excited to welcome you to the Northwestern University combined Medicine-Dermatology interviews, which also serves as interviews for either the categorical Medicine and/or advanced Dermatology tracks, if you have applied to either of those Northwestern programs. "
northwestern med derm counts for prelim.

Does anyone have any insight on what the program at Mizzou is like? everyone there seemed super nice so was just wondering!
Rotated there - some of the friendliest and most down-to-earth faculty and residents I've ever worked with. Lots of peds derm on the faculty, very welll-rounded curriculum IMO. Columbia is very college town-y so that could be a plus or minus depending on where you are at in life
Very kind faculty who want to teach. They will be having residents go to a smaller town 30 min away starting next year but could be a positive if you like that
does university of missouri-columbia not do a social or info session??
Doesn't look like it
Thoughts on doing an away at U Missouri - Columbia?
doesn't always interview rotators if you look at last year's sheet
any firsthand experiences?
anyone heard from U Iowa/ U Missouri -Columbia (aways)?
lots of internals for Iowa, may not hear back until 6-8 weeks before block start day>what months are internals usually given? < all of them
got an offer (from UM-Columbia) for late Nov-Dec, they said the rest of the earlier rotations are full
Anyone know how many students can rotate per month at Iowa?
Thoughts on University of Missouri vs. Saint Louis University?> SLU is in an actual city
University of Missouri just released
Open PGY-2 spot at University of Missouri for July 2024 - applications due this week
has anyone heard from mizzou??
anyone interviewing at mizzou received the schedule yet
Has anyone received info for Mizzou interview? < not yet. Hoping it comes today!
Anyone get any UMissouri interview information for next week yet? < Not yet, but I think they plan to send it out soon < still nothing!
