right click, show edit history, tab back to find the deleted material. I'm pasting the deleted content here: Replaced: "which programs do RTM calls???

none (not even the "low tier"/"niche" ones like University of Puerto Rico/St. Barnabas/St. Johns) etc. It never happens in derm. The only program that has a special "early" communication to an applicant regarding acceptance is University of Mississippi's Rural Track which the one applicant will hear back MONTHS before everyone else. That one spot is done outside of the match.

Current derm resident from the Northeast - can confirm derm residencies are terrified of recieving match violations and having a problem with the board. It may jeaporaize the program/its accredidation for the following year. " with "Anyone else completely exhausted and burnt out? Interviewing for advanced + prelim + TY is so tiring, extra props to those of you who dual applied. Our strongest soldiers. "

> people are saying that they received calls this year though? >> IF this somehow does happen, DO NOT tell any friends in medschool/others you have come acrss in your derm journey. This is a 1% chance occurence - don't blow it for you or the program. I would suggest you still rank YOUR top programs as you would have ranked originally (aka: pretend you never recieved that call).

Some people are lying to increase anxiety and fuck with you. It's very easy to make a claim on here and get a reaction.

lmao. This has to be a lie. If you know anything about the UConn leadership you know they follow APD guidelines to a T. They might have nepotism and favorites picked out but they don't break the rules.

As a home student, I find it VERY hard to believe the UConn APD would call someone saying they're RTM.

What programs are considered workhorse and what programs are considered chiller?

#5012025–2026 DermFeb 21

Emory NYU, Washu, lots of the Texas programs workhorse

Feb 21

LSU, Tennessee, Wake forest, Mississippi, Missouri, Arkansas are examples of chill ones

lies on the Texas programs being workhorse. There are definitely chill programs here. More reasons to take people's opinions cautiously.

same with nyu…yall are just parroting what you've heard people say in the past instead of talking about things you have actual knowledge about…

Some absolutely attrocious tweets coming out of DermTwitter attacking programs for not matching any Black applicants. Clearly improving DEI is an essential movement for the field but there are so many logical flaws with this trash take < who posted 'atrocious' tweets? < I don't see any. < everyone just wants to complain about something on twitter

#5902022-2023 DermMar 21

DermTwitter (since it started) world is quite different from the real Derm world in terms of emphasis in the specialty. I wouldn't say take it w/a grain of salt but they're not the majority academic Derm faculty view (which is still relatively traditional), so keep that in mind. If you're someone who does not have a home dermatology residency program at your medical school, DermTwitter can be very helpful there when it comes to building an application.

All I'll say is that it is pretty weird when your residency is in a city with 70-80% black people and NONE of the residents that you match are black. The reason they're attacked is because it's not like it's because of a lack of interest from URMs < I imagine that most cities/urban cores aren't majority white. This idea that black residents of a city can only get good medical care from a dermatologist of the same race is weird. Academic medical centers by default treat marginalized communities. Outside of racial quotas (which are unconstitutional) for Derm there is really nothing that can be done about a derm residency not matching a black applicant. The only cities that are greater than 70% black are Detroit, Michigan and Jackson, Mississippi.

Has Mississippi come out yet? < don't think so < didn't they release on the 7th? < I thought 7th was internal applicants

Did anyone else who interviewed at Mississippi think that some of the faculty were just not very warm at all << Not really surprising actually.
