Hi, would anyone with UT Austin on 2/1 AM be able to switch with my 2/1 PM slot? If so, please email me at 2020dermswap@gmail.com - thank you in advance!
Besides UTSW (#1) and UT Houston (#2), how would y'all rank the rest of the texas programs: (San Antonio, Austin, Galveston, Tech, Baylor Houston, Baylor Dallas, A&M/Temple)
UTSW wouldn’t be my #1 though so.... (I guess I mean purely based on quality/reputation, not location or personal preference)
lol its the reputation among residents that's bringing it down...good medicine though
the only residents who seem to say bad things about UTSW are those not at UTSW. Those at UTSW have wonderful things to say about their program
Can anyone elaborate on UT Austin?
it's in Austin, nuff said. basically #1 selling point of the program <They hired a lot of great faculty from other good schools. They will be a strong program with all that they are putting into it.
As a non-Texan, I don't understand the difference between Austin, Houston, and Dallas
Can we get an insider perspective on how the Texas programs rank similar to the CA discussion earlier? Seems like UTSW is the easy #1, but what about after that?
UT Dell Austin 🤘 🐮 (Interview Broker) x7
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF... Heartbroken
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
ehhhhh
predictions for which programs come out next week?
Colorado x2, UCLA, UCSD x2, UT Austin x2, University of Florida, Hofstra, Brown, maybe USC, Stanfordx2?
stanford comes out first week of december
source?x2
< how do you know? x3
<yeah fake news. PC told me they'd come out by the end of November
Any predictions for today?
I think we're past due for Colorado, due for UCLA/UT Austin/UCSD/Hofstra
I get a few more rejections
Same x4
Today felt oddly quiet without any rejections x4!
Anybody interested in peds derm?? What programs are catching your eye?
Yes!! UCSD, UCSF, UT Austin at Dell x 2, MCW, etc. <Northwestern, UMn
Make sure you ask specifically if there are peds derms at your programs. Many very good programs don't have a fellowship trained pediatric dermatologist, especially if located in a "less desirable" geographic location.

nun ya biness<<umm rude much? it will be public knowledge soon anyway and will be everyones business then.
this is all sort of sad if you look at prior year derm sheets or current year sheets of other specialties they are very filled out (including names)....
or people may be filling it out from match lists that have already been posted publicly..? Sad either way! <I added info to it this morning when it was refilled, and now it's gone again...?
yeah, I noticed someone also keeps deleting UT Austin's smh
I'm also hugely in favor of removing the AOA section from the match list. That's weirdly personal and not necessary. I think it should just be name, school, intern year. This is to see where people are not to try to figure out your match odds based on extremely limited info.
agree re: removing the AOA column. If people want AOA data they can look at charting the outcomes data
Disagree, you don't have to fill it if you don't want to, and if other people want to fill it out then they can - I don't at all see why we have to remove columns that have been part of this list for years. Having things like research year and PhD etc can help future applicants who are trying to understand what kind of applicants match. I know for sure it helped me.
Same. I think the column is totally fine. Not sure if I agree that it is weirdly personal either, at least for those who are AOA, considering that many schools, including mine, publicly announce who was inducted. It is a big accomplishment, and I think many programs like to see it/place an emphasis on it, among other things, so it is definitely helpful to know!
