away and interview: some of the faculty were fucking horrible and openly talked shit about residents with plenty of eye rolls. However, some were incredible and were excited to be teaching and created that "family" vibe. A land of extremes haha Some of the worst people I've worked with but also some of the best.

You'll be a dermatologist. Both of their Mohs applicants matched. They are in the process of creating a Mohs program.

UVA had Mohs fellowship until a few years ago. Mohs surgeon decided he did not want to be director anymore but made this decision after one of their own residents matched into the spot, then had to scramble to find alternative plans for fellowship. Shitty move and shitty program where half of the attendings care about you, the other half don't know you exist

there's a difference between knowing where it is and actually seeing/thinking about living in Baltimore, as someone who had never been before

as someone who grew up poor in a rough location it didn't seem bad? but maybe my perspective is skewed.. i also felt like south LA reminded me of where i grew up so that's that..

there's something off about most of the attendings and the dynamic was a bit odd. even one of the attendings who was super nice and smiley..idk if they were stressed about the interview day or what I was picking up on.

i felt the same way! like something felt so off!! I was confused. I thought the APDs were super nice, but everyone else seemed super passive/bored/didn't want to be there?

got the contacts at 6:00PM on a Friday and they discourage post-interview contact unless for genuine questions. I did not email.

I'm assuming most schools try to schedule their home students as early as possible in the cycle just to give them an easy first dermatology interview (but i'm just a girl)
