What anonymous posters said
Anonymous posters frequently discussed Loma Linda's interview-day presentation requirement and described the application and scheduling process as sometimes confusing. Several commenters offered mixed opinions on the program's reputation among California options, while some recommended completing an away rotation there to improve match chances.
Can someone please confirm if Loma Linda lets you live with a partner you arent married to? I know the med students aren't allowed to do that but is it the same for residents? thanks
I've never heard of this being a rule for Loma Linda residents

The med students also have to attend chapel every week but I doubt the residents do

Does anyone have tea on Loma Linda? I'm sure most of us have heard they have a reputation of being toxic/residents taking their own life in other specialties, but how is derm? Trying to figure out signaling and don't want to waste one on a potentially toxic program. Thank you.
I have no ties to Cali aside from some non immediate family in the Silicon valley area. I really wanted to do an away on the west coast to establish ties and signal I want to go there. I applied to UCSD on time and a few other programs later (OHSU, UCSF, Kaiser, Loma Linda) but haven’t heard anything… is there like no chance I get an away out west at this point? Is there anywhere else I can add an app to at this point where I might have a chance? I emailed UCSD coordinator once a month ago, is it too much to email again… I got rejected from the peds derm dates but haven’t heard ab the clinical derm
Wait loma linda's application opened today, but half of the dates were gone a few hours after I checked? Does that mean they filled up that quick??? I was literally in clinic :( Is there anything i can do to still apply?
Is it worth even bothering applying to these cali aways with no regional ties?

lol no not at all waste of $$ and a month of your time < + 10000x < if you have no geographic ties, it's even more worth it to do an away < I'd add to this by suggesting an away and securing a letter as well < only one worth doing is Loma Linda. They match an appreciable number of away rotators< Idk about this, I recieved interviews in states I have never been to, you never know who knows your letter writers and/or what a program is looking for
