Case Western Reserve University wins for most loyal rank list hell yeah
biggest waste of gold signal rip
It's possible that all CWRU students wanted to stay.
Cleveland, OH
Sentiment score: 4.8 / 10
Applicants express significant confusion about the program's structure, particularly regarding the distinction between MetroHealth and University Hospitals components of Case Western, with repeated questions about separate vs. combined tracks, interview logistics, and questionnaire requirements. Sentiment is mixed, with some positive mentions of loyalty and program quality, but substantial frustration about organizational clarity, interview processes, and concerns about program selectivity based on metrics. The program appears to have released invites in waves (DO first, then MD), creating uncertainty about timeline and scope of interviews.
❌1. Interview day was brutal and inefficient. 14 (!!) 8-minute interviews back-to-back with little break in-between. Program coordinator was super nice but disorganized and we ended up finishing almost an hour over time. Interviewers were super distant, most of them barely smiled when they met me, and seemed bored/uninterested the whole time.

anyone have thoughts/insight about cleveland clinic?
yes! I'm a "home" student and former rotator - super formal vibes at Cleveland Clinic. Residents felt that the new PD was a drastic change from the old one who was a gem and well loved. Residents were looking forward to leaving because they felt the chill vibes have gone away and new admin are more stricter about things including attending conferences, scoring on derm exams, more scut work etc. Will probably be ranking the other programs in Cleveland higher just because the residents seemed unhappy with the changes to the program. Residents needed to manage the attending inbox which they said was a huge negative. Plus even tho there are in-house fellowships, there is no preference given for in-house residents for Mohs... Feels like there's more negatives here + it felt like the residents didn't have a voice
why are you putting quotes around "home"? Isn't case western a home program?
technically but not officially, CCF has their own med students at CCLCM
Ah, so case western is "home" that's why there's quotes I see >haha yeah its confusing for ppl not familiar with the cleveland med programs
UH>CCF>Metro
I thought the residents were happier at Metro over CCF, I think research/ranking wise CCF defintely wins over Metro but for vibes and well-being I think Metro is better! personally doing UH>Metro>CCF>Metros just tough because its work distributed amongst 2-3 residents vs UH is 6 residents.
idk why this got deleted but just reiterating that the PD/APD at UH come off super inexperienced as well
rotated here and felt that way
heard this from a current resident
you guys should probably add this to Fame & Shame if people are deleting

Schools that make you do a presentation during interview day like Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Utah, Loma Linda, etc.. what is the purpose and what the presentation should be about? lol
it was actually really nice to have the chance to give a presentation. i just made it about where I grew up, hobbies, where I am now, etc
Has anyone gotten an email from metrohealth of where and when to sent ppt?
I think we just share our screen and present from our computers

Anyone have insight into what to include in the MetroHealth presentation for the selection committee? It says to include things not in your app but tbh I included it all, I feel like there's very little outside of random hobbies that aren't in my app.
did case western say what time we can schedule tomorrow? can't find it
same, no clue but just gonna be waiting for their email i guess
I set a 9am alarm idk why
I have a school opening at 6am tomorrow (EVMS) so just be careful and on the lookout!
I woke up late and they still haven't sent! also waiting
has anyone gotten an email for UH ?? i havent yet, its also not on my thalamus. Still nothing (12 EST)

Case Western is out
Idk if that's true, if you go on their site, they had interns who did not match at Emory but were TY interns
Case Western released
UH or MetroHealth?
metro

thanks! do you happen to know the dates offered?> no idea sorry!
Thoughts on case western UH?
cleveland
are they more of a rotation mill or like to interview their rotators?
rotation mill
I know someone who rotated and didn't get an interview, the cleveland programs tend to take a lot of home students from CWRU
and also... cleveland >
Why did someone delete the comment about yale only matching 4/12 this year? Does anyone know if their home department really isn't supportive of their students / dealing with toxicity issues for 8 of their candidates to not match?
negative comments about yale are always deleted quickly...
4/12 is crazy, but I also go to a 'top' program and we only had half of our candidates matched... if any school matched all of their candidates (>4) i'd be impressed. On an unrelated note, I saw a lot of PR students match this cycle which is pretty sick, good on them.
stanford matched all 5 internals this year. i think they've matched up to 12 in previous years. def at least 8.
half of the people matching at top programs is crazy when the overall match rate for t40 NIH funded schools is like 80% lmao
Case Western matched 13
reapplicant here:( how can i see what programs had R spots available this past cycle? also does that change every year?>> Yup changes every year, there was approximately 7 or 8 when I submitted ERAS and maybe 4-6 that came out from start to end of cycle
this year I think was UCSF, case western, midwestern, UTMB, puerto rico, larkin, pcom georgia, temple, mcg, utah - half of those came out halfway through the cycle
The ones from the start of the cycle: Lark S Miami (not real, reserved for the unpaid research fellow), Case Western, Midwestern, DCC-Flint, UTMB, PR, PCOM, Georgia. Later ones that came out but from the grapevines they only interviewed people that had already signaled earlier in the cycle and/or were reserved for internal as there wasn't any mention of new reapplicants that hadn't originally signaled getting IIs: UCSF, Temple, MCG, NYMC, Wayne State, Utah

Wondering if anyone has any information on whether aways at Ohio State and/or Case Western are worth it> Did an away ot Ohio state and got an interview and solid feedback but they pretty much always take at least two internals so it's not super high yield.
has anyone heard about the girl who graduated from case western UH and did mohs who failed boards? does the program not prepare you well for your exams or what's the deal there
Are there any more open interview slots for Case Western University Hospitals?
did anyone else get an invite from metrohealth saying the link to signup would be sent on 12/4 and then not get an email today with a link?
