The match history of the last however many years speaks for itself, but a current attending at Mayo AZ said to me (slight paraphrasing) “you just have to do what he says for a year and they’ll take you.”

mayo interview done: I liked it. A bit heavy on the tell me about x patient, but otherwise asked good insightful questions that prolly do give insight into the applicant

Is Derm unique in mostly doing behavioral question interviews, and if so, why? My medicine interviews have been conversational, and friends in surgery dont get many behavioral questions <I feel like I haven't gotten too many behavioral questions at derm interviews? Mayo had a lot but otherwise I felt like most programs have maybe 1 behavioral question per station and the rest was conversation x3

For being a T10 derm program, why does Mayo have so many residents who are IMGs or from non T20 medical schools? <they take some of their research fellows who are sometimes IMGs
