Anonymous posters often compared Einstein to other programs, with several suggesting it may better suit general dermatology or private practice than academic careers. Multiple posts described its Bronx location as a downside, while others cited patient population diversity as a strength. Some commenters also suggested home-institution applicants may have an edge in matching there.

✅1. The faculty and residents are incredibly kind
❌1. Not their fault, but the commute between sites really sucks and is why I won't be ranking it higher. Most residents live in UES which is great but the commute is between 45 min to 1 hr 15 depending on what site you're at.

Do we think Einstein/Monte dropped their full interview invite list?
i think so, it was via thalamus, felt like a mass message

Does anyone know how long the prelim year interview sessions at Montefiore New Rochelle are? Mine just has a start time of 9am but I don't see an end time
For anyone else who got the Zucker hofstra/northweel prelim II - does this mean there's no actual interview and the slot we're signing up for on thalmus is just for the info session?
did everyone just get an invtie lol or did they only send it to epople who the would take? I have the same question
"We will not require you to have an actual interview with a faculty member. instead you will be requested to sign up for one of five webinars with muself to learn more about our prelim program..."
but what does that mean?
my interpretation is that they already have a rank list based off the application and that these sessions are for applicants to learn more/ask questions abt the program
agreed

Last miinute but say Albert Einstein requires 1 away LoR? what if we didn't do an away, does this mean we are automatically disqualified?
it means call the coordinator tomorrow and ask bestie! It's their job to answer questions like this!
> where does it say that...
on ERAS in their specific app
it says it requires 1 away, not 1 away LoR

Out of einstein, columbia and cornell which only take home/aways - still havent built my list and crashing out:/
crash in my love -- all of them--how do you know
historically
every program is going to have some preference towards people they know. look at past match lists to see to what extent and plan accordingly.> a lot of the match lists dont indicate if they did aways or not how are people finding this out
previous years' soreadsheets
Does Einstein often take non RY people? Are they a pretty research focused residency (i.e want students who have done lots of research)
There's a match list page here that can give you that info
Thoughts on UCSD? Really thinking about an away there, would love to do residency there as well.
would love to know if UCSD is one of those programs where if you get an away it truly means they are considering you - I know other programs (wake forest, northwestern, penn) are rotation mills
UCSD would be so cool to rotate at but ik it's an investment so also wondering if it's worth rotating there>>> only do an away if you are from a prestigous school for them to consider you
Look at who they matched/prior matches, that should tell you everything (they love prestige)
the prestige thing is super true for UCSD. I II'd there from a mid-tier school and I was the only one not from like a top 20 lol
groosssssss
would you consider coming from Sinai to be prestigious or nah
they matched someone from Einstein this year and that was the "lowest" rank school they matched
seemed like they did an away there so maybe an away is worth doing if you aren't from a "top" school?

what time does Einstein scheduling open tomorrow?
Einstein already released again today? Any available dates left on thalamus?
Did anyone figure out if einstein still has more interviews?
For Albert Einstein/Montefiore, do we know how these rounds of IVs work? Do they send half on 11/18 and the other half on 12/2? Or what's the logic behind these.
is einstein releasing more on 12/2 as per the sheet or is it done?
is einstein done or also releasing on 12/2?
Are people that got Einstein today all internals or includes non away/home peeps
