To apply or not apply to programs with accreditation warnings?
I say apply. Would you rather be a non-derm resident or a derm resident at a program with warning? Plus if a program dissolved (and fact check me on this), the residents are shifted to other residencies to finish

What are the Vibes at NYMC. I cant find anything on their residency site about specialty clinics, research, volunteering, mentorship/QI etc
also like how big is the incoming class its like 4 then 2 then 3

a mentor told me last year that it was at risk of not receiving accreditation, but i couldnt find anything to corroborate this online

a lot of skin of color + very underserved population. knowing spanish is a plus as most pts come from harlem & the bronx. residents own their own patients, lots of surgical procedures. no volunteering as far as I know, but seemed like the residents were involved in research

What is the reputation on NYMC / Metropolitan derm program? Do they interview out of state (OOS) with signal?> yes they do. They primarily interview and match reapplicants
i wouldnt say amazing location yes it's new york but you have to communte over an hour to different clinical sites and in new york its not worth it to have a car so you rely on subways that dont work

reapplicant here:( how can i see what programs had R spots available this past cycle? also does that change every year?>> Yup changes every year, there was approximately 7 or 8 when I submitted ERAS and maybe 4-6 that came out from start to end of cycle
this year I think was UCSF, case western, midwestern, UTMB, puerto rico, larkin, pcom georgia, temple, mcg, utah - half of those came out halfway through the cycle

The ones from the start of the cycle: Lark S Miami (not real, reserved for the unpaid research fellow), Case Western, Midwestern, DCC-Flint, UTMB, PR, PCOM, Georgia. Later ones that came out but from the grapevines they only interviewed people that had already signaled earlier in the cycle and/or were reserved for internal as there wasn't any mention of new reapplicants that hadn't originally signaled getting IIs: UCSF, Temple, MCG, NYMC, Wayne State, Utah
