Are the NYMC 1:1 interviews really 2 hours long? Just noticed that on the schedule...
Is NYMC interview in person? Has anyone confirmed?
What's the deal with NYMC? I am hearing mixed/sketchy things. Trying to balance that vs location
Are the NYMC interviews actually in person? Thalamus says yes but the How To Apply section of their website says Zoom. The email says basically nothing
NYMC interviews are in person???? yes >> 1/31 , 1/3 , 1/10
So as of 12/10, NYMC, Larkin, plus all the other programs listed above have STILL not sent out interview invites, correct? >> To my understanding, yes
anyone know anything about NYMC?
anyone knows when Larkin and NYMC are releasing?
anyone know anythign about NYMC
is NYMC really that bad? I liked all their residents and faculty i met, and i really wanna be in/near the city, but didnt get any other interviews there. < do you.
where are the most competitive cities for derm? i'd imagine east or west coast, but is it boston or NYC or SF or LA generally? < SF and LA programs generally don't go far down their rank list. I know of a few programs in NYC that do go down a bit on their rank list, NYU not being one of them of course. < That's because NYMC isn't like NYU
did NYMC lose funding or why are they only interviewing for 2 resident positions this year
Can someone put Dr. Kleins email on here? I missed it in the chat from NYMC
so NYMC is interviewing 70+ people for 2 spots? that seems excessive < isnt it 3 spots? < it's 2< from what I asked PC, they are intervewing 60 people for 2 spots. < is it me or is this a red flag? < people have said there are some red flag about the program but honestly it seems pretty chill < it is just not a eye candy among many NYC programs. Very distanced training sites and limited support. Residents have to strive to get things done. In other words, you need to be really self-reliant < And also they are well known for taking PGY-1 predominantly < hm ok well then i guess as an m4 i dont have a good chance anyway < not necessarily if you really like them then rank them high. If not rank them low. There is nothing you can do to change how they select residents < they probably punch above their weight if they take PG1s if you think about it since there are tons of overqualified unmatched derm applicants who may feel like that is their best shot even though those said students may not have ranked them as M4s. kinda genius plan really
