Anyone had a bad interview experience at Emory today?
I'm sure you did better than you thought? the interviewers today seemed really welcoming/kind!
i was just curious bc i wonder how they are gonn rank us if everyone had a "good interview" lol
There are different tiers of "good." Everyone got an "A" some got 91, some got 99
and im sure many of us are unaware if we are part of the 91 vs 99 group
agreed everyone im sure does well! but itll come down to things we wont have control over
like what lol?
personal connections to programs, derm is all about connections!!
do we have a chance without a connection if we interviewed and it went well lol?
I dont think any of us would know, but I hope we do lol. would assume the chance is lower with fewer connections.
what about having connections but not feeling so hot about interview performance?
it'll depend on how strong your connections are/how hard you think those faculty members will be batting for you during rank meetings (ex., did you just do one research project with them or have you been working with them over 2-3 years, did they recently graduate and become faculty or are they senior faculty w more sway)

Emory apparently only sent II to 24 ppl
how many home and aways were there?
no clue
the 24 are the not home/aways, so i'd say another 20-25ish who are
POOP
do we know how many home students Emory have + how many aways? just trying to roughly see how many they're interviewing total> it was around 28 ppl in the social, idk if away/home ppl joined
I don't know yall just worry about yourselves and try your best tomorrow :)
I did an away and can confirm we were not told about joining a social, so I doubt aways and home students were there
POOP
Are home students interviewing at Emory tmr too?
Home interviews are seperate> are they as long as tomorrow's interview day aka 11 rooms lol
POOP
Good luck to those interviewing at Emory tmo! hopefully a lot of us can be co-residents [I did my interview during my away]> how was it?
POOP
anyone have insight into Emory interview (questions, vibes, etc.) ?
POOP
How many is Emory going to interview with home and aways and externals
it's around 40
POOP
Case Western is out
Idk if that's true, if you go on their site, they had interns who did not match at Emory but were TY interns
was UCI thalamus?
why do people ask if it's thalamus? how is that helpful?> My guess is because thalamus is more likely to be a mass send, whereas an email perhaps gives the possibility of receiving later in the day
thalamus emails are auto-sent and usually one and done. PC emails are typically rolling
like emory, people got it over the span of 45 mins to an hour
so UCI all out? :(
seems a bit early for irvine?
don't think UCI actually released yet, no one is filling out the Interview Offers tab
I see 2 there now :(
i'm skeptical
is it possible that they are internals?
i hope

Is Emory full? Why do they only interview 20 people? Seems like a small amount of applicants to interview. Jeez I just saw that they offered interviews to ~3% of those who silver signaled. Wtff
got an interview with no signal at all
cap
the number 20 is interviewees outside of home/away rotators
what are chances for those 20 to match there?
probably only 1 of them will if even

So UF dropped too that hurts
UF is like emory if you dont do an away the chances are vvvv low...> they offered me an away for a month I didnt apply to (but I couldnt go) so I had false hope
why would you expect an interview when you declined their away... IJBOL
Not getting Emory stung a bit, rip
that one hurts
apparently they only released like 20 interviews? didn't realize their yield was so low
woah that's less than 3 interviews per spot
they also interview all their aways during the aways
still that's not a lot of interviews for 6 spots
thats rough
for away rotators, does emory interview you on the rotation or invite you to their interview date?
I interviewed on the rotation
Does anyone know if there is a list of prelims / TYs that automatically consider you for their institution's prelim/TY or their derm interview counts as the prelim/TY interview? Sitting at one TY and one prelim but a few derms and want to know if I should go into ERAS and add them or if I should worry more :P
emory and Pitt, GW (if you applied to linked prelim-derm), henry ford, penn state
uconn, Henry Ford
oh so if you didn't get uconn prelim, does that mean you probably won't get derm?
