wait, did Jeff send out interviews too? or is this just a mistake bc its right below Penn state on the spreadsheet
Penn State Rejection x15
Any thoughts on Penn State Derm program/department?
So did Penn State not send invites out? I see it was removed. This is starting to get confusing.
I don't think it's insecurity so much as this is what happens when people cry wolf!
Someone added a Penn State rejection today in the Interviews tab. Can anyone confirm this? I didnt get anything from them today x3
yes, I did receive a rejection, maybe my application was especially subpar for their standards :(
penn state external! x2
Someone on the interview swap tab is holding two interviews on 11/29, too late to cancel and let someone else attend. Kind of annoying. At some point if you can't arrange a swap you need to cancel.
Yeah. Let's try to give the programs and other applicants a 2-week notice if we can.
we know youre gonna go to UPMC. drop your Penn State interview and let it come to one of us like sweet Hershey chocolate
Agreed. Have edited conditional formatting to highlight (in red) dates that are within the next 2 weeks.
Cool!
you know, its just dumber than dumb to hold on to an interview that you cant go to because statistically it could mean that the person you knocked off of that potential interview is more likely to take your spot in the match.... especially in the same state where some people have ties.... its just really dumb to do that besides being mean. Let people have the interviews at places you dont want to go because then they might match there and will be less competition for the places you actually want to match at!! it just makes sense people!!!
lol this has been resolved and canceled the psu interview last week, i just dont go on this psycho spreadsheet when i dont have to
Dear applicant with two interviews scheduled for 11/29. There is 1 week left. Please be courteous to your fellow applicants and drop one of your interviews.
Anyone else think the two VCU people are a perfect swap but they probably forgot that about their swap request?
Contact info is right on the sheet if you want to contact them direcly and give them a heads up
done lol
The dbaggery with double booking is unbelievable. Wish this was all done through ERAS and applicants couldn't do this in the first place. x2
This 11/29 applicant was actually TRIPLE booked with Yale initially, if you look at the resolved swaps.
Too close to the interview date and a program probably can't even accommodate a swap, the interviewers have to read over files in advance
Its a small world and people will find out about this bullshit
If anyone can switch with their UPMC or Penn State interview date with me, that would be fantastic. Otherwise, please leave me alone. These programs don't even have waitlists. They're not going to pull one of you guys in at the last minute. Thanks.
Damn, ice cold reply. But it is a little messed up people are attacking the person for doing something, almost everyone here would probably do too in the same situation
I don't have sympathy for the applicant who's manipulating the interview system. If he/she cancels right before an interview, or no-shows, their school should hear about it and word should spread. Do you think the program that gets shafted will invite future applicants from that school?
These programs don't even have waitlists --- you can't be serious. Just because a program doesn't send out a waitlist doesn't mean they don't have alternates they will offer an interview when people cancel. Programs have a number of interviews they want to conduct in order to ensure they match all their spots. If everyone like you refused to drop an interview until the last minute, you are putting these programs in a bad spot and hurting another person's chance of matching. x3 again canceled psu last week and just didnt update this spreadsheet so yall are wasting your time complaining about me
This person forgets that several lines up they asked if anyone could switch their UPMC or Penn State interview date with them
Is Penn giving out any more interviews?
I hope so! A reliable source told me they are not done extending invites. They also have several tracks like med-derm, research track, and CTCL that have not extended invites yet
Just a heads up, I think the only date offered for the regular track is 1/11 at the moment
Research interviews are from 1/4-5; the coordinator said they're sending them out soon (I'm an internal). I dunno if there are also regular-track interviews on that day
Thanks for clarifying! I've updated my comment reflecting this one. Coord also noted that most spots on 1/4 are reserved for research track and med-derm applicants as I couldn't switch in |
Are you talking about U Penn or Penn state?
Penn = UPenn
Penn State external invite x3 -- looks like there are two dates per the interview tab? Anyne else who was offered an interview only have one date offered?|Yes only offered me one.
Penn State rejection x10

It was removed by someone insecure. They did send out a wave of invites.
