it's pretty ironic that Rush is named "rush" given the delay in invite releases

Rush still hasn't released II? Looks like their first interview day is coming up
Is there somewhere I can read about how the coordinated release system is going to work. If I get 10 interviews(in my dreams), are we guaranteed to be able to schedules all our interviews or is there still going to be possible time conflicts? Are we going to have to rush like crazy the morning all the responses are due, or will the system be something else?
What is everyone's thoughts on Rush and BU being on probation for accreditation? Thought it was really weird that Rush's program has an ENT as chair lol
Be honest... of course we'd all be happy to match anywhere... but how far down your rank list would you be slightly disappointed? - I would be happy at my #1 and #2, after that they are still great, but I just fell fell in love with those two programs, any further and I'll be in the "slight disappointment zone" x2 - awkwardly betting programs also probably feel the same way after falling past their top few x2 //I'd honestly be super happy at any of my top 4. After that, I'd still be happy that I matched but a little disappointed
Anything past 3, I'll be sad. Because I wont have matched lol << I only have 3 programs
Falling down to my last rank would result in a brief moment of surprise followed by a rush of pure joy that I narrowly snuck into such a ridiculously competitive specailty. I'll just be grateful to know that I will be a dermatologist (how many other people can say that?)
My last 2 ranks would be a disappointment, as they're in locations I don't super want to live in. But, like others have expressed here, I would probably very quickly get over that when reminded that I succeeded in getting my dream job.
Probably below 6 for me.
I think that one of the dissonant aspects of the application process was being told that i had to be ready to respond right away to an interview invite, and then waiting every day next to my phone/computer for a call/email that never came (or excitedly opening up a rare email, only to find a rejection)
ditto, but also being guilted into buying an apple watch only to find that it's utterly useless for noreply@aamc.org emails with 219839839 word subject headings
< Lol, I got an apple watch. While I was driving, it went off with an invitation from one of my top programs. I quickly drove into a nearby parking lot. Two disasters averted: (1) I didn't get into a car accident, and (2) I didn't not get the date that I wanted. Thanks, Tim Apple! Also, I've been using the watch to motivate myself to exercise in the janky hotel gyms during the interviews. None of that interview season weight gain for me, thanks.
Freeway on-ramp was the wildest place I've gotten an interview invite. Thankfully it was rush hour traffic so I was able to interview broker that shit before getting on the freeway.
Knowledgeable friends, thoughts on San Jose airport vs SFO coming from Palo Alto?
Depends on the time of day. AM traffic is from SJ -> Palo Alto, PM traffic is Palo Alto -> SJ << second this. Strongly recommend against driving from Stanford to SJC during PM rush hour, especially if you don't have time. Traffic up to SFO can also be pretty bad, but it's closer geographically. Also, the Redwood City campus is closer to SFO
SJC>>>>>>>>>>>SFO
x2
Definitely SFO.
was anyone else waiting for a utah call this am and never got it?
<< they may be running behind. I got the call this morning, but it was cut short (only about 5 min) and he seemed to need to rush to get to the next call.< LOL kk what do they even ask? << its super informal. just if I had any questions about the program. nothing else. <thanks
<<Yeah they are running behind. Got my call outside of the scheduled time window
how far outside the window?
ten minutes.
What is the general consensus about the Chicago programs in terms of reputation? How do UChicago, Loyola, UIC, Rush, and Cook County compare? And Northwestern? But also wondering this
Northwestern is the best in Chicago x2
what about the others?
iono, the only other program I've heard of is UChicago, and that's because of its college, not the derm program << I think UChicago is only held up by its undergrad name, the derm program is not that great, no where near NW. Loyola is actually pretty good just location isn't amazing. IDK too much about rush, uic, and cook though
there is a giant gap between NW and UChicago in terms of department strength, reputation, and most of all, research x 2
anyone know which airport is best to fly in for U Chicago? It appears the main campus is further south closer to midway but there's apparently a downtown campus too maybe closer to O'Hare, not sure where the interviews are held. Forgive my ignorance of Chicago geography.
<Would recommend flying into Midway x1
Thanks!
Did Rush go out?? << yes, at least first wave went out last week
How do you get permission to post on the interview swap? I have Dec 14 Rush interview and need Dec 7 instead! agj101@yahoo.com
Rush went out??!
yes last week
< Post in the middle columns, and it autopopulates to the left hand side
What happened to SD's work? Did a troll delete basically the whole thing?
Ya wtf << wow, legit evil dermers << and definitely not an accident, they would have had to hand select all the cells and delete << think of how angsty and weird you have to be to sit there at home and delete everything because you can hide behind your anonymity
That would be incredibly distasteful - if you don't like it, don't look. It's in a separate tab... << day of mourning :(
WHAT DID SHEET DADDY EVER DO TO YOU
there is text that says - SD OUT. something happened and i dont want to rush to judgement but if it's the same thing that happened to me, im gonna be really angry - meme << wait, what happened to you? << what happened?? x2
oh basically people constantly complaining and deleting and resizing my stuff, got tired of it all so i kinda stopped. this spreadsheet's users are really toxic and uptight , scared to be your co-resident in a few years - meme << I think the secret is that they are not applicants
<?
Can we get the tab back???
Rush out (x4)
what are their dates?
Congrats! Method of contact? Email << I got an owl at my window with a letter
dang I feel like I wasted that joke I should've saved it for a bigger program.
< you really RUSHED into that one
LOL x2 lmaooo
Date(s) for Rush? 12/7 12/14
(updated!) So for December interviews, we're still waiting on Rutgers, Thomas Jefferson, UCLA, Rush, U Chicago, Vanderbilt, UMass, Emory, also HealthPartners and UAB <<AWESOME POST x1
the gray box always brings the anxiety lol << green and red for me x3
lol, why red? If you didn't get a rejection yourself, that's good! << that's the cue for me to check and its typically correct lol x2
Will (more) interviews be released on (11/5/19)? Yes: 1 No: 0 Program Predictions: Mayo AZ, Hopkins, Stanford, Harvard, Minnesota, UMiami, Vanderbilt, Jefferson, Ohio State, Penn, UChicago, Wayne State, Texas Tech, UAB, SIU, Rush, Temple, UVA Actual IVs (4): Georgetown, Wash U (research), Henry Ford, George
< You know, there is the entirety of the West Coast to consider. We're still in business hours << I don't think it's updated to say we're done, just a running tally (the same row is moved up) << just updated it << 10+ person, can you please press CTRL+Z to not erase the field that was there or use the function to get the past entry back << Thank you for reverting it back to original

Maybe 11 or 12 for me. Still would be pretty happy though.
