Can we talk about UT Houston? in terms of training and culture < I think most of their residents are filled with in-state applicants. Can anyone from texas comment on this program?< heard they work alot and it is MD Anderson so you got to pay for parking and also drive between different places for consults. < residents are workhorses, little autonomy < Do they have resident clinic? < Like compared to UMichigan how tough the work is there? <<< no resident clinic

i felt like i really connected with some interviewers (not pd) at a place that usu takes only home students :/ probably low chances? < no one knows. maybe the home students want to go somewhere else? < are you talking about BCM? They did take non-home students (only except last year)

List of programs where residents are overworked? < NYU < Miami <UChicago < Northwestern U < UTSW < Harvard << is utsw still that bad? <UT Houston < is UChicago still bad? Heard it changed after most of the faculty changed < is miami as bad as people say < Residency explorer from 2020 said 60 hr/ week for UChicago

Ok why does BCM interview around 60 people for 3 spots when they just internally match their entire class, like legitamate question < how do you know that they do this purposefully? maybe it is because all home students rank them high. And previous classes did have at least half from other institutions (except last year) < what is bcm? < baylor college of medicine

does baylor interview day have 4 interviews or 5 interviews? << Is this Baylor College of Medicine or Baylor-Dallas? < Baylor COM < looks like five 10-minute interviews with 2 minute breaks between x2 < why do I see four 12-minute interviews? < no idea. My email says five 10-minute interviews. Where are you seeing the four 12-minute ones? Maybe interviewing on a different day or at a different time? < oh nvm it says four in the first interview invitation they sent but the recent email says five

UT Houston, kindest rejection letter I have ever read < + 1< didnt apply what did they say< "Many excellent candidates go on to have very successful careers in dermatology or other specialties at other institutions. If it is any consolation, I can tell you that I probably would not have even selected myself for an interview if I were to have applied today. Best wishes for the future." < Crazy PD's recognize how out of control things have gotten and do nothing to fix it
