✅1. I rotated here and honestly this was my favorite away – great culture, very nice PD/APD and faculty, and great vibes with the residents who were inviting and very happy overall. Well-rounded training with good mix of subspecialty clinics (rheum derm, cutaneous onc, peds, etc.), and this was echoed by the residents. They do very well in the fellowship match with the last 3 Mohs matches being at Harvard, UCSD, and UCLA. Dermpath was a weakness but I heard they were revamping and just got a heavy hitting new dermpath faculty there + other new faculty. Amazing location being in Boston, and also you get close interaction with the other Boston programs which is nice. I was initially concerned about the accreditation warning people were talking about, but it looks like in the newest ACGME data from 2026 they're fully accredited.

Schools that have secondaries: BU, U connecticut, U Iowa, Umiam (research track only), U Oklahoma, wash U (research track), Upenn has an optional one < iowa doesn't and WashU isn't offering researhc track this year

I saw they only do 10 weeks in consults, is that a good thing?
Is it better to have a heavy consult residency? What is the average # of time for consults across the 3 years? < depends on your preferences! Majority of people prefer clinic and therefore hate consults. Some people love inpatient derm and love consults. It also depends on how your program does it. Seems like places with dedicated consults rotations residents seem to love it. Some places have rotating residents cover the consult phone/service and have to go see consults inebtween or after clinic and therefore they hate it.
What programs are considered workhorse and what programs are considered chiller?
Emory NYU, Washu, lots of the Texas programs workhorse
LSU, Tennessee, Wake forest, Mississippi, Missouri, Arkansas are examples of chill ones
