Anyone know when BU sends out their interview invites? lol thankfully ended up doing that supplemental

not me turning in my BU supplement at the last minute thinking i am convincing them they're one of my top programs with this bs x3

for people who have done the BU supplement - how much did you write? These questions are hella long and detailed and I wonder whether putting brief, ERAS supplemental-length responses would be seen as dismissive/not of interest< I had the same Q< I mean it's kinda annoying, first eras then the supplemental and then now this. I feel like I'm running a race where each day I am able to run 1/2 the distane between my current position and the finish line. How can anyone from OOS convince a program they really want to go there unless they have strong family ties anyway? < i wish programs would undersatnd i will literally go anywhere lol

Are there really only 4 program specific supplemental applications this year (BU, UTSW, Penn, Lehigh Valley)? I already filled out Penn's app (took less than 5 min) but is it even worth writing supplementals for only 3 other extra programs? Is it because of the new ERAS supplemental that the number of program specific supplemental apps is low? < i think so. I only did the UTSW one because I had answers. I applied to BU because why not, not sure how to say that in 5 paragraphs

Bruh, BU should have just participated in the supplemental -_- < but then they wouldnt have been able to ask why BU for 3 questions <LMAOx3< Hahaha. I was going to say because it is a safety net hospital so diversity of patients etc then I get to the last question, and they steal my only thunder by saying they are a safety net hospital themselves. Now what do I write? < I feel this, you are not alone lol

so it looks like the BU supplemental is optional according to this email they just sent. Fantastic news because I wasn't going to do it, and for the people who didn't apply because of it, now you know it isn't mandatory and you can do with that info whatever you want

How important is it to submit the secondary applications by 9/29 (BU/UTSW etc) or can those be submitted later? < Wondering the same. Submitted UTSW but haven't written BU's < did UTSW send a message about their supplemental???

where is the BU supplement actually posted and when is it due (i see it on the next tab but from them)

not gonna lie. this BU supplemental is enough for me not to apply there, i just dont have it in me for any more hoops x9

What programs have a lot of scut work?< i've heard NYU does < heard BU<what is considered "scut" work? < covering attendings' inboxes excessively, doing prior auths for every patient needing it (as opposed to doing some for educational purposes) < any program with resident clinics will have prior auths and a bit more workload, you don't have to cover attending inboxes at NYU though< true! And NYU has a lot of resident clinics which is why the training is good (ie you aren't 'shadowing' attendings) <like other people said, at NYU the clinics are resident run, meaning they have their own patients, and they are not under the attending, so it makes sense why they have to manage their own inboxes and do prior auths for their OWN patients. If it were attending clinics it would be a different story. < I heard UCSF has lots of work due to patient volume, like residents are there super late daily. I also don't think volume of work makes you a better physician, like the firehouse idea like water is good and all but not if you're getting more than you can drink

Any details on BU probation status? I heard some issues went deeper than just the 3 program.

Did everyone get the email the week before last from BU with the contact details of the current residents?
