What anonymous posters said
Several posts describe Broward Health as a formerly osteopathic program that anonymous posters say has been shifting toward mostly MD residents, with mixed opinions on its overall reputation. Multiple posts mention frustrations with application and interview scheduling logistics, while others describe the transitional year as having a relatively flexible schedule.
Where can I find Broward's application on VSLO? I've been checking since VSLO opened and cannot find it under institutions or derm rotations. I've e-mailed their program coordinator twice with no further information.
I have also been emailing and what I've gathered is that there are a few programs that aren't popping up on thier end in VSLO. Not sure what the exact issue is but they stopped responding a few weeks ago.

I saw some reported they got an NYMC interview without a signal??? are there any other programs that this has happened this year?
OK, super curious - is yield protection a thing (not just based on scores or signaling but overall app strength and likelihood of person actually choosing the program)
Not sure what you mean by yield protection, but programs 100% factor the likeihood on whether an applicant would want to come to a program in their ranking (e.g., programs from the Midwest/Mountain/South would rank the East/West Coasters lower if the applicant does not give the program strong reason why they would want to come there)

I think yield protection is real (maybe just cope) but I have a PhD and didn't get any interviews at "less competitive" places like Henry Ford, Brown, and community places despite interviews at more "top" places
not sure when they began but i received an II a few days ago! >> is this for derm ?

No, it was fully booked when I tried and I emailed and they said I'd automatically be added to attend the social event the night before my interview but I didn't get any further instructions for that or get signed up for a spot.

Im a TY right now and cannot emphasize enough how amazing a chill TY is for my wellbeing. Luckily im also in a great city but living in a great location doesnt rly matter if you never have time to enjoy it.
the program is nefarious for having the most golden weekends out of all the TYs/prelims (every other week is a golden weekend on Wards, AND if youre on a specialty rotation [cards, GI, Derm, etc] which is more than half the year, every weekend is a golden weekend and you get out at like 12pm every day). There is no mandatory surgery rotation either. There may be similarly chill TY programs (i.e. Sutter Health/Rosemont) but what makes Broward really competetive is the fact that its located in Pompano Beach/Fort Lauderdale and close to Miami

do they seem receptive to taking their TYs into their derm program? (if they didnt match the first time) >> Hmm... I'm not sure - what I can tell is that you can get a ton of facetime with the derm department (up to 6 weeks) during your TY if you choose to do so. The derm rotation is at Broward Medical Center (Fort lauderdale) whilst the TY is based out of Broward Health North (Pompano Beach) but the two are very connected and a short drive from one another.

has anyone heard from Broward for aways? --> I did not and no response to email. I am under the impression that if your instiution does not have an affiliation agreement in place they will not scheudle one, nor will they show on VSLO for you
there are many programs worse than larkin
