What is University Hospitals?
Case Western
Case Western/UH DO interview x2
< just DO?
DO are DOCs too. Don't discriminate or hate. Look yourself in the mirror
Not their point. You're crazy x1
I think it was a joke
you're a joke
<Any MDs get this?
Phd here and got it
Predications for this week? Maybe UCLA, Brown?
arent those the only two left? what about casewestern?
there's a lot left (loma linda, case western, einstein, brown ucla, fsu, temple, baylor in dallas, etc.)
I have about 10 places I applied to that have not sent invites/external invites...and I did not apply everywhere x2 <just look at the interview invites spreadsheet to see who's left
has baylor come out? (it seems that baylor houston already did)
baylor houston came out for internals only so far (pls correct this if I'm wrong)
Can I wait till after ranking to take Step 2 CK?
x 2 how do we find out if we actually need this or not. Don't want to bomb it in case I have to do this all over again if I don't match...
< I feel your pain
But serious question though...My school doesn’t care.
i heard others mentioning that some schools require it to rank, but idk which programs
< I know UCSF and Case Western do
Where can I find the calender that the PD put together for dates again? I can't find it anymore PDs/DIGA/Anyone, can you please add missing ones: Kansas, Baylor (Dallas), UConn, UC-Irvine, Florida State, Georgia, Maryland, Icahn Mount Sinai, New York Medical College, University Hospitals, Wright State, Cornell, Roger Williams, Tennessee

<< that should be it, i found it by searching http - meme --> Thank you so much!!
For Case Western questionnaire, what is the difference between the second and third question?? x2I am so confused? What if we haven't taken all the cores yet?
i just filled out both of them the same bc i assume its a mistake << I filled it out before they added the 2nd questions 2 times
How can you not have taken the cores yet and be a MS4?<because some schools make it impossible to finish all your cores+do a derm elective/and or sub I+aways+time for research
< I also don't understand difference between question 2 and 3. I am in a H/HP/P/F system.
<< They screwed up. Originally it was 4 questions and somehow there's now 5. That question got duplicated
This is gonna be real awkward when my pass fail school means that my answers to this questionnaire are useless
Interview calendar is still looking for these dates below. Anyone? UConn, FSU, Georgia, Maryland, UC-Irvine, Wright State, Roger Williams, Tennessee, Mayo-Rochester, Icahn, SUNY Brooklyn, University Hospitals, Kansas, Cornell, Baylor (Dallas), Metropolitan, Temple
The derm gods have responded above!
Ugh, that moment when you see "AAMC email" and it's just confirmation for an upcoming prelim interview. << lol, so true
For the Case Western questionnaire, what is the difference between questions 2 and 3? 2. Please click the option that represents the number of core rotations in which you obtained the second-to-top possible grade (High Pass, Commendable, or equivalent at your institution). Choose one. 3. Please click the option that represents the number of core rotations in which you obtained the second-to-top possible grade (Honors, Pass, Fail, or equivalent at your institution). Choose one. * * They updated the document and made a mistake --> yeah those questions are different than what I have #1. is asking for honors #2 is asking for high pass. >> Can someone please explain how to answer these questions? Does it mean if you have 6 high pass then you have zero second-to-top?
I would say N/A for #2 if you have 6 of the highest grades NOTE: Rotations included are: Family Medicine, Medicine, OB/GYN, Pediatrics, Psychiatry, and Surgery.
Do you guys have your class rank? I don't know it and my school is giving me a hard time. Anyone having the same problem? << Not applying to CW but my school will not tell us our rank. << I did not put it in and just submitted. most schools do not tell you rank --> do you think it looks bad not to submit the class rank? What did you put in the box instead since it is required?
"N/A" or "not ranked" for schools that do not do internal rankings. Alternative is making something up haha, so I think they won't mind << absolutely ridiculous that they ask for this without going through your school
If we all put N/A they will have to actually read our applications.
anyone not get the case western questionnaire?
i did not get it . | I thought i didn't, but then i checked and noticed I didn't apply to this one. oops << lol I forgot to apply too. Were they late in listing the program on ERAS or something? Because I applied to a lot of places and wouldn't have skipped saving it if I saw it.
<lots of DO residents. is it a DO program?
It has 4 MD and 2 DO a year. Its an MD program with 2 spots saved for DOs
Anyone got a Case western questionnaire? - is neuro considered a core clerkship? << what are the core clerkships?
they list the ones they consider on the top of the survey--- thank you! totally missed that. <<<< case western UH is a very malignant derm program....i interviewed there last year and hated it, didnt get good vibes from PD/Chair, and i also disliked how they sent us that survey that made it easier for them to judge us solely off metrics..
yesx10 4 questions on it: How many Honors? How many High Pass? Are you AOA? What is your Class Rank? ...wow << silly questions but if you aswer 6 in one then have to answer zero in the other right? or did i read it wrong?
great to know this is all they value and couln't review MSPE
wonder if they send this to all applicants? X2 << Not to be rude, but isn't all this in our application... << I agree with you 100% haha <<< so have they not even looked at our apps yet? lol << are they even allowed to ask for our class rank? I thought the Dean has to send that x2
Do you think "top grade" means A in general or A+.....? << Depends on what is the equivalent of H. you don't want to stretch the truth incase they look on your app after, but I agree it is hard to fill it out since we all have different grading scales and different cores
we don't have honors and they don't tell us our rank? also virtually no one gets an A+. idk how to fill this out
I put n/a for rank
hard to fill this out << yeah, this is ridiculous << this supplement seems insanely lazy. Everything is in our MSPE. Also makes it clear they only seem to care about 2 metrics x2
yeah, it's pretty insulting. i am more than my grades..... x5
goes to show how silly the whole system is, we are being compared across schools in terms of grades, but each school does it so differently that it shouldn't really be such a big factor in whether we receive interviews or not at any institution. x2
Did everyone who applied get this?
Does anyone know the difference between the Metro Health and the University Hospitals program (both are Case Western)?
<Both are affiliated with Case; Metro is the county hospital, so you tend to see more Spanish-speaking patients, patients on Medicaid, etc; UH is more academic. Also UH is a bigger program (6 per year vs 2-3 per year at Metro); That said, Metro is a very-tight knit group of residents who are very much like a family (cheesy, I know, but true) << Thank you, good summary!!
Realizing I only applied to Metro as I thought the UH was DO only, oops!...anyone else? << Lolll same, thought it was DO
do you think it's worth emailing/explaining and submitting now? << No. I think it's too late.
UH does their interview invites by a point system. So you get points for different things (including class rank, honors, AOA/SSP, publications, what type of journal it was, what number author you were). This is their easy way of creating the points for us. << that sounds terrible
Guys, try it for yourself, if you say something about unethical research, the cell gets deleted. It's a cool magic trick!
<Strange
There is absolutely no way this Case survey is for research - appears to be a lazy way to make us do their data entry for them to auto-grade our applications
Ew, that's even worse
IM programs go through thousands of applications, and they need to use a survey doc/point system to go through a few hundred? << Pretty frustrating x4
im just shocked they haven't looked at our apps yet. << I heard that UW PD just started looking at apps this week
for those who received, was it via eras or email?--> email

What is University Hospitals?
Case Western
DO program for a few years - just started taking MDs last year -- Broward is one of the most favorable MD programs of the previous DO residencies. They're already almost 50/50 and many DOs have said that they think it will be 100% MD within 5 years. They also transitioned way early on and have been accredited for a while now
Likelihood of them actually taking MDs rather than DOs? Have heard even though these programs are now accepting MDs, they still prefer DOs
I know an MD who matched last year <you can see the current residents on the website. they have 3 MDs and 5 DOs. seems they are taking more MDs now
Its really not fair to not consider MDs
why not?
And you wonder why some MD programs have DO bias...
Haven't met an MD program with DO bias - rather way too many MD programs with MD bias.
