Happy to answer any questions you have and can give my perspective/input, keep in mind some residents and PDs can go on this sheet and glorify their program, also conversely other applicants can write negatively about programs so that other rank them lower so take anything you see on this spreadsheet with a grain of salt

what about northwestern regular Derm/peds derm> NW med derm counts for advanced derm NW position + med derm position. NOT prelim. You can ask to be considered for categorical IM, but that was not guaranteed by just applying.

UCSF residents manage an attendings inbox all together when they're on that specialty clinics rotation. It's not every month or every clinic + they're given protected time (separate from regular academic time) to do it

NYU only manages inbox for patients they have seen in clinic

CCF residents also only manage inboxs for patients they have seen in clinic and are also given protected administrative time.

yes! I'm a "home" student and former rotator - super formal vibes at Cleveland Clinic. Residents felt that the new PD was a drastic change from the old one who was a gem and well loved. Residents were looking forward to leaving because they felt the chill vibes have gone away and new admin are more stricter about things including attending conferences, scoring on derm exams, more scut work etc. Will probably be ranking the other programs in Cleveland higher just because the residents seemed unhappy with the changes to the program. Residents needed to manage the attending inbox which they said was a huge negative. Plus even tho there are in-house fellowships, there is no preference given for in-house residents for Mohs... Feels like there's more negatives here + it felt like the residents didn't have a voice

I thought the residents were happier at Metro over CCF, I think research/ranking wise CCF defintely wins over Metro but for vibes and well-being I think Metro is better! personally doing UH>Metro>CCF>Metros just tough because its work distributed amongst 2-3 residents vs UH is 6 residents.

y'all need to remember that this is NOTHING!!!!!!! compared to a residency in IM/surgery/peds/etc. yes it sucks but it's so so so so much better than what you could be dealing with. This is also another plug for everyone to do a chill TY instead of a prelim lol < what an odd response

yikes if you guys think derm is any different… the joke is that specialties are all malignant in some capacity and it depends on the program. Derm isn't special and you aren't above other specialties because you matched Derm. respect other specialites guys what is wrong with that....

Being forced to do stupid shit like cover atttending inbox can actually make a big impact on your QoL .. lol

At CCF, you only cover the attending in boxes of patients that you have seen so it was just part of the continuing care of your patients just like in the real world

Umich does not cover attending inboxes (you cover your own inbox for patients you staffed with an attending, and if they see patients independently, they cover the inbox stuff)

not most but many do. Important to ask about because it is so silly to cover inboxes esp for patients you didn't see

personally really enjoyed it but the panel was kind of intimidating. faculty were really nice and chief interview was super chill
