Can't speak to the person who had the racial slur experience but I actually felt the exact opposite about Northwell. As someone who rotated at Northwell and at two other NYC programs, I thought Northwell was far and away the most normal and least toxic of the three. Found most (not all) attendings to be pretty interested in teaching residents and although some of the residents were maybe a little socially awkward, all seemed genuinely kind and like there was just no drama or backstabbing happening. Compared to the other two NYC programs, this was a breath of fresh air. At the other programs the attendings were catty and dramatic and seemed to create issues just because they were bored with their lives

yes this is exactly what i heard that they are notorious for not interviewing everyone and claiming they will be ranked anyway, when I was there this was quite confirmed, but people are saying that they were guaranteed interviews by faculty but that was totally not the vibe when I was there
to the commenter before this, can you explain what you mean? who confirmed that? if you didn't get an interview as a rotator, will you still be ranked? etc
Choose realistic aways. Places where you already have a connection via interests/values/mentors/family or partner nearby. They want solid concrete reasons why you want to go there.

i only knew of how notorious they were about not always intervirewing rotators, heavily warned (by past rotators, not faculty)
