What are y'all's opinions on doing derm research since undergrad. I know someone who did this and is currently at washu for derm. They got like 10 pubs before applying.

If academic halfdays off (for admin duties/reading) are common for programs, it would be more helpful to list which programs don't have these halfdays: NYU, WashU... anyone know others?

How does not having protected academic half-days impact the overall training experience? I'm thinking of programs like Wash U and such...does this universally result in programs with residents who feel a bit more overworked with less time to study independently?
