fwiw, the top applicants this season have been seeing each other across most of these virtual interviews. newsflash, there's about 40-50 of them, accounting for regional bias, and they are the ones that can really compare an interview from stanford to one from harvard to ucsf to utsw, etc. if you don't don't have those kinds of options, follow doximity rankings or whatever other metric brings you joy. No one is trying to screw with your rank list here, only you can control that. The comments on this spreadsheet are just what would be happening in person in real-time if that were an option, probably with more honesty than otherwise possible.

does ucsf have a good mohs program

now that you have interviewed... Harvard or UCSF?<i tried asking this question nicely earlier in the day, ppl did not like it. same boat.< did they delete it?<no, just called me a dbag< damn, sorry. I'm kinda leaning toward Harvard. 3 months elective is pretty sweet and we won't even know fit until we are actually there. I have friends who matched into programs and are now miserable even though they thought it would be a good fit on interview day.<yea, that's why i was asking too. both programs are obviously awesome, but have different feels and slightly different perks. i was kind of thinking ucsf for the tech hub opportunities< what if I decide to do a mohs or procedural fellowship. Is one of these more accepting than the other?

For those that interviewed today, did UCSF have a pre-interview dinner last night? Trying to figure out my schedule for next week.

anyone torn between ucsf and a less prestigious program? if so, how are you approaching rank list? > this is very dependent on individual circumstances and the other options. Are you asking for advice? Everyone will approach this differently depending on geographic preferences, SO preference, family support, long-term interests in academics vs private sector, etc<yes, asking for advice, similar to above, feels like it would be a wasted opportunity

anyone interested in talking offline about how to approach ranking programs? would really appreciate help> same, but I have trust issues so probs gonna talk to my friends =/ > I can say what I am doing here: huge emphasis on geography (opportunities for SO, proximity to family). Considering cities balancing rent with how fun the city is, and need for a car (avoiding needing a car). That said, importantly the people matter. Reputation is one of the things I am least concerned about, but of course if I am between UCSF and a small community program close to home, it's not that simple. Mathematically we can weigh X > Y > Z, but if the difference in Z (the least prioritized variable) is huge between institutions, while the X and Y variables are somewhat more comparable, or smaller in difference, then sometimes the LEAST important variable can outweigh the more important variables (Unless you have a hard stop, like absolutely not moving far from family). So there actually is a bit of logic to it. Basically you need to determine if there are ANY hard stops (often this is a geography hard-no). If not hard stops or absolutely most important variables at any cost to the other variables, then you need to determine the relative importance of the other variables you are considering them, then apply a rating for each program in that category, then compare. Once you have a rough list compiled, you can tweak the list based on which places you feel best about once they are on paper. Btw, I am not suggesting you write out a formula, this is just how I think through things in my head

Hi, I'm the OP who initially asked if anyone was willing to switch UCSF dates. Someone is now impersonating me and writing all sorts of aggressive stuff about refusing to be bullied or give up the dates etc etc. That's not me. I'm deleting my interview swap date request and am no longer trying to swap. I don't want to be involved with any of this. Hope everything works out for everyone <someone is impersonating u? wtf?< Not shocked at all, people are psychos. I had my own harrassment on here as well x3

UCSF interview is conflicting w/ 2 other IIs, is it better to keep the 1 UCSF II or drop and keep the 2 other IIs?> I'd drop the other two and keep UCSF personally
