Anonymous posters frequently group this program among a small set of highly regarded dermatology residencies. Several described residents as happy and well supported with favorable quality of life and compensation, while some noted comparatively weaker derm surgery or Mohs training. Many posts also debated whether post-interview check-in or 'RTM' calls occurred, reflecting persistent rumor and uncertainty around recruitment communications.

Fame & Shame

2025–2026 Derm

4 entries

1. All of the hospitals are beautiful

1. I heard that their Peds Derm spot is guaranteed to whoever their current research fellow is, the nepotism runs deep. Good luck.

2. Most stressful interview day. No breaks between rooms. Rapid fire of very challenging questions and follow-ups. Felt very judged with every answer I gave. PD responded with rudeness after I asked a basic question.

💬1. well the shame is clearly not true as this year's peds match was not the research fellow +1. very organized interview day and responsive coordinator. > hated this interview day seemed like they were trying to see how you do under stress

Did Stanford, Harvard, and Penn peeps send thank yous or questions to interviewers? what is standard? < Stop sending this shit to people. Makes it weird for the rest of us and doesn't affect your chances in the slightest. You should be thanking them during your interview and that's enough x2000

How do other programs like Harvard/NYU justify their COL and lack of resident financial support when Stanford is literally throwing cash at you < DREAM Program < harvard is prob the worst program in terms of salary/COL ratio < Simple: People come to Harvard and NYU for the name. < by cosigning your rent lease with you and because rent is only that high close to the hospital and NYU definitely has support because union

Can we get a T10 tab going? The T10 interviews are picking up now. < yassss < we are not having a separate sheet for T10s.< Ok. Don't get salty and get HTN with all the incoming NYU, Stanford, UCSF, Penn, Harvard etc discussions < there have already been discussions about Harvard and Penn and no one got salty, stop projecting< trying to keep the main chat more inclusive; I imagine it can't be fun for people who didn't get II from their dream programs to be reading about the privileged few who collected them like Thanos collected the infinity stones <well such is life and we need to stop glorifying these programs anyway. a derm program is a derm program.

Any thoughts on Harvard v Penn v NYU v Yale? And then UCSF v Stanford, and how to weigh these two west coast programs vs Northeast? Anything other than geographic preference that one should think about?< It comes down to autonomy and ancillary support. Some of these programs give more than others. Some lack things the other have. No program is 100% complete, it just needs to check the most boxes on your list.
