✅1. All of the hospitals are beautiful

❌1. I heard that their Peds Derm spot is guaranteed to whoever their current research fellow is, the nepotism runs deep. Good luck.

❌2. Most stressful interview day. No breaks between rooms. Rapid fire of very challenging questions and follow-ups. Felt very judged with every answer I gave. PD responded with rudeness after I asked a basic question.

💬1. I mean, it looks like Stanford is solid for giving spots to their research fellows. Recently gave a spot to an IMG that did a few years of dedicated research with them. I don't necessarily think that's a bad thing? Look at USC or UCLA with 99999 research fellows and none of them get serious consideration.

how many does Stanford interview? You can ask your resident buddy but I've heard not very many because literally every faculty member in the department will come to interview you.

terrible reputation. I will have nothing good to say about any program that doesn't send outright rejections. The most respected programs (Harvard, Stanford, UCSF, etc) do that for their applicants. << you would slam a program over that? Geez, hope you're not matching with me. There is nothing wrong whatsoever with keeping a larger waitlist. Some programs actually give the opportunity for second reviews of waitlist applications when they arise

I can’t really ask a mentor to reach out to a program that rejected me. Would much rather have silence and them be open to re-reviewing versus one random faculty completely closing the door on me.

<I would search through the sheet. A few of the RTM posts seemed slightly fake, but it seems like a few (less than 5) may have (e.g. Stanford)

Very competitive applicant with a lot of interviews: I got 0 RTM calls or emails << Interviewed at 14 got 1 email<<also very competitive applicant with 4/5 top interviews and 25+ interview offers and 0 RTM calls or emails as well, though a few "hints" from my home program when talking to the PD there. << my friend got 2 RTM calls

I also had over 25 interview offers and not RTM. I think only 1-2 places did it this year and who knows how many they gave.
